Whether you are a music major or majoring in the more than one hundred other subject areas, the bands at NAU provide an excellent outlet to continue actively participating in music. We believe our student centered, undergraduate education focus, and small class sizes approach to education provide a wonderful setting to pursue music making at the highest level of excellence. The College of Arts & Letters provides an excellent environment for individual growth. The College has over 300 undergraduate music majors but still maintains just the right faculty to student ratio that allows our music students the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with faculty members. Private lessons are always taught by our applied professors, regardless of class standing, and we have numerous opportunities to perform in large and small ensembles that are unique to universities this size. Simply put...NAU offers the individual attention of a small school and the performance opportunities of a large university.
The NAU band program includes students from every college on campus and offers opportunities for students to perform all styles of wind music. NAU's ensembles continually display a nationally recognized standard of excellence.
The NAU Bands have maintained a tradition of providing students with a balance of musical and social activity, fostering one of the most meaningful experiences of campus life. NAU also offers the MM degree in graduate conducting and education. Join the 'coolest' band in the 'Southwest' in the "City of Seven Wonders" at Northern Arizona University.
The location of the university enables us to offer a number of unique advantages. Flagstaff possesses a pleasant year round climate and environment that make it ideal for study and recreation. NAU renews its dedication and focus to the undergraduate student body annually, and the university believes that the bands at NAU are an integral and essential part of the university experience.
